Battists and Montoya’s Catobase Tutorial

What you have seen and read is the entire process anyone will ever need to get Catobase working. Unfortunately, there will be times when something may not work.. If you plan to use Catobase, it is important that you know how to make your league more “Catobase-friendly” and to avoid difficulties. Here are some things to remember.

 

● Backup your Catobase files before you add/run new seasons into them because if you ever get any errors you can troubleshoot and then start over again with a fresh copy of everything

● Be sure that nicknames don’t contain odd characters

● Be sure that every team has a unique city, nickname and abbreviation

● Always remember how you are organizing your files and folders

● Never edit or do anything with your master league file. Always use a backup league file

 

Some events which could cause problems for Catobase:

 

● Teams relocating

● Expansion? (not tested but beware!)

● Renaming players

● Abbreviations with non-alphabet characters

 

If you experience any errors at all with in the import process, chances are the rest of the job will not be done properly by Catobase. So make sure you have everything backed up!
