Battists and Montoya’s Catobase Tutorial

Our Tutorial

First of all, thanks to Battists (OOTP boards handle) for laying the groundwork for this instruction guide. While I tested his findings and wrote these instructions I did not have a hand in the discovery process.

 

 

First of all we are going to focus mainly on the process of getting Catobase to function with OOTP 6.51(the absolute latest patch!). The key word is “function” as there are some issues that may rear their ugly head in the future but at least you will be on the same page as the experts should you call for help.

 

O.k. Let’s get down to business. (Please be patient as there are a lot of images on this tutorial that need to download.) When you get to the end of this page go to Page 2.

 

First you are going to need to download and save some files to a location on your computer where you can access them quickly.  Here is what you need and where to get them:

 

1. Catobase 5.4  http://65.78.148.37:1080/ootp/Utilities/Catobase 5.4.zip

2. Catobase 6 (actually a patch) http://65.78.148.37:1080/ootp/Utilities/Catobase 6.zip

3. Catobase 6.1.4 (also a patch)  http://65.78.148.37:1080/ootp/Utilities/Catobase 6.1.4zip

The above is what one of my folders looks like. Notice the three Catobase zipfiles on the third line and the “newCatofix” file on the 5th row. They show up like books in my computer because I use WinRar instead of Winzip. In your computer they may show up as folders with zippers. Right click on “Catobase 5.4” and unzip it’s contents. You’ll see a file named “setup.exe”. Click it to start the installation process.

Be sure to close any other programs and continue with the installation.

(From Figure 1) Open the Catobase 6.0 (patch) in a window and open C\Program Files\Catobase in a separate window. Drag and drop the contents of the Catobase 6.0 window into the C\Program Files\Catobase folder. This will “overwrite” some of the old files.

Do the exact same thing with the Catobase 6.1.4 (patch) to “overwrite” some of the old files again.

Now create a folder where you plan to keep your Catobase for your league. I created one called “MyCatoBase” Within this folder, create two folders. One folder should be given the same name as your league. The other should be named “LeagueReports”

Next, go into the game and finish the season but DO NOT “Proceed to next season”.
